I like lots of different forms of lacemaking. I particulary enjoy adapting patterns and designing my own lace.
I've included some pictures of more recent projects here, but Patchwork has taken over at the moment, so there isn't much new to show.
BOBBIN LACE
I first learnt to make bobbin lace when I was 19 years old.
I have made various forms of bobbin lace: Torchon, Bucks Point, Bedfordshire, Honiton, Bruges.
I am a member of the UK Lace Guild and had a pattern published in their magazine in January 1998.
I have attended many workshops in bobbin lace with tutors such as: Denise Watts, Ann Day, Geraldine Stott and Sandra Langworthy.
TATTING
I learnt to tat in 1996 from a video by Pam Palmer that I borrowed from the Lace Guild library. I have also attended one workshop with Sheila York, but am mostly self-taught.
I enjoy taking part in tatting exchanges and 'Round Robin' doilies with other tatters. These have been invaluable in the learning process. I have now completed 2 Round Robins with tatters in the US and the UK and a Snowflake Round Robin with 7 other European tatters. See above for links to the photos.
NEEDLELACE
I learnt to make needlelace in 1990.
I attended several workshops in needlelace with tutors such as: Ros Hills, Kay Dennis and Pat Gibson.
I was a member of the Needlelace Guild for several years, having patterns published in their magazine in 1991 and 1993.
